The Salt Lake Triathlon Club was created to promote triathlon in the Salt Lake community–while fostering a sense of unity, fun and a healthy lifestyle. With that goal in mind we have created a solid team of coaches to help all our members become better athletes.
Our coaches were selected based off their experience in triathlon and completion of their Level 1 USAT Triathlon certification. All our coaches have a positive attitude and a willingness to help each athlete become mentally and physically ready for any race. Most of the coaches have competed in Ironman distance races with very strong results. All the Salt Lake Tri Club coaches have had extensive training in triathlon training and protocols. Each coach is given only a limited number of athletes so they can give the deserved attention.
If you would like more info on coaching, please see the "What you get" page. If you would like to be coached by a SLTC coach, you can purchase it here. Once we get your order, we will send you an athlete questionnaire so we can get to know you better and build a custom plan around you the athlete.
Here are your SLTC Coaches.

During his time on that team, he relished helping the other athletes on his team with their training and answering all the questions they had that come along with triathlon training. He eventually decided to become a coach himself to better help others achieve their goals and earned his USAT Level I Coaching Certificate. Chris loves working with beginners and loves seeing people finish their firsts, whether it be first sprint, first Olympic, half Ironman, Ironman, or XTERRA. Sage is about more than just training and racing; she's about the lifestyle of endurance sports. What she most loves about endurance sports is the drive and confidence they’ve given her, and she loves sharing this with others. "When people realize that they have the power in them to do something hard and to do it well, it's a game-changer," she says. She takes great pride in aiding “newbies”, weekend warriors and youth in their discovery of the joy, focus, and self-confidence that comes with endurance sports. An athlete herself, Sage hopes to invite camaraderie on this shared adventure and advocate for populations traditionally excluded from triathlon- namely women, minority youth, and LGBT athletes.
Sage is a certified in USAT L1, USMS L1 & L2, and is currently working on her USAC L3 license. She particularly enjoys helping athletes train smarter to create fitness gains while maintaining a balanced professional and family life.

Triathlon found Travis at a pivotal point in his life. After years of playing collegiate basketball a serious ankle injury ended his career. After reconstruction surgery and months of rehabilitation he knew it was time to find something to fill that competitive void. After seeing the Kona World Championships on television for the first time in 2012 he had found just that. He competed in his first sprint distance race in March 2013 and was hooked, mostly because he was so horrible at it. The next few years he would go onto taking podium finished at all of the local sprint events and completing two Ironman 70.3 distance races and an Ironman.
With the love of both sprint and long distance races, Travis is able to help the newest of new athletes that are tackeling triathlong for the first time as well as those who are seasoned in the sport and are wanting to take on the longer distance and become an IRONMAN
