Meet the Directors

R. Adam Lee
R. Adam LeePresident
R. Adam Lee has a passion for Triathlon. His motivation is driven by the personal challenge and effort than by the result. He does not want to hear if you are fast or slow, he simply wants to know you tried with your heart. Adam is just as excited to see a member cross the finish line as the overall winner as he is with the last person on the course. With Adam’s business background combined with his passion for the sport, he plans to continue the success of the Salt Lake Tri Club.

Given a second chance at life, he signs many of his posts with, “Take advantage of today, it doesn’t happen often.” He believes you should value every moment on this planet and not take time for granted. You will rarely see him without a smile on his face and his hope is to share in everyone’s journey and gain energy from it.

Adam resides in Daybreak with his wife Kirsten and their four children; Aizlyn, Porter, Maximus, and Mason (Rummy – Yorkie).

Karen Hodges
Karen HodgesCommunications Director
Karen entered the running and triathlon world after successfully loosing nearly 90 pounds with the help of her doctor and nutritionists. Fueled with a new life, she began running, accomplishing 13 half marathons in just one year. She also was introduced to triathlons after being posed the question “Why not do a triathlon?” Her answer was simple but temporary “I don’t own a bike!” She bought a bike shortly after and engaged in her first triathlon, the South Davis Sprint n Splash. When she finished she realized that she fell in love with yet another aspect of fitness, one that incorporated three sports! Karen has sights set on competing in her first 70.3 and 140.6 within the next year. Karen’s passion for fitness comes from her own experiences along with her education in massage therapy, specifically sports and deep tissue; health and nutrition, and personal training. Karen resides in the Sugarhouse area with her husband and youngest daughter.

Mike Humphries
Mike HumphriesClubs Operations Director
Mike got into triathlon in the summer of 2016 to get healthy and honor the memory of his father who had just passed away.  The first triathlon he ever did was Kokopelli at Sand Hollow in September of 2016 and absolutely fell in love with the sport that day.  His experience in that first Triathlon reminded him of the old saying that “you don’t know how much you don’t know.” That first triathlon may have been one of the best experiences he has ever had, but it also made him realize how little he knew about triathlon.  He joined SLTC soon after that and discovered a group of people that would forever change his life for the better.  Since that day he has gone on to compete in multiple Ironman 70.3 events and countless local triathlons in both Sprint and Olympic lengths.  Mike completed his first full length Ironman on April 28th 2018 in Texas.  He has a very supportive wife, a 14 year old son who also competes in triathlon, and a beautiful 13 year old daughter.  Mike is grateful for all the wonderful people of the Salt Lake Tri Club who have coached, helped, and taught him what it takes to accomplish his goals.  He is very excited to give back to the club and community that have done so much for him.
